OCD Taking over

Posted by Frogcloset - January 10th, 2008

Ive been working on a children book (in flash its the only program that lets you create freely) im constantly trying to get published and noticed ive become a weirdo.

first of all i have to get up before 9 but i cant set an alarm, if i get up anytime after 9 i cant work, if im working up by an alarm i cant work, if i dont leave the house at 3:30 to get something to drink (regardless of anything to drink been in the fridge or if im thirsty) i cant work.

Its like theres a part of me that doesn't wont to work which is worrying because its taken me two years to pluck enough courage to approach publishers (fear of failing) please tell me theres someone out there that has this problem aswell.

i can never work anymore.. i lost all my motivation. the only time I can get myself to start drawing its when on amphetamines. lol. though ill see a therapist now to cure the depressions. but mmh I guess youre not alone, a low working spirit is well awful. goodluck

I found listening to songs you know all the words too helps.

you end up not noticing that its playing and you end up in a world of your own.

that and beer (lashings of beer)

I know how you feel man, I have ADD.

imagine if all your attention was applied to something that doesn't matter.

at this very moment im stopping myself getting up and rearranging some books because some of them are poking out and there not arranged by depth.

but then ill have to arrange them alphabetically, but then what if i want a certain type of book so ill sort by genre.

I know this because I rearranged those fucking books 4 times yesterday and there exactly how they were when i started.

But i feel for you, because sometimes its helps me focus on the most minute detail i cant imagine not been able to apply myself my concentration to something.

I have OCD which goes along with my ADD, it's minor, not like yours. I simply have to recite a verse or saying in my head or outloud every once in a while and rearange my pillows a certain way, things like that.

you learn how to deal with it. and although im now sitting in an area where all the item around me are lined up neatly and certain thing are driving me crazy because there of angle i feel i dealing better then i use to.

when i first was dealing with it I met this guy with severe aspergers which stops him developing mentally and he took everything as you said it. But he was an amazing person that couldn't be happier with how he was, I guess it takes someone worse of then you and coping better than you are to put everything into perspective.

Meh, you're stuck in a rut there, buddy-boy.

Nah, kidding. Sorry that you have OCD...
